Far and away the most challenging course in West Texas, Quicksand is one of the finest courses in San Angelo. Quicksand Golf Course sits on approximately 320 acres and measures in at over 7,000 yards from the championship tees. A pristine course with excellent greens and open fairways no matter the season, Quicksand is as beautiful as it is unforgiving. Sand traps and water hazards play prominent roles in all 18 holes of the course providing players with a challenge not found on any other course in the area. While the course is exceptionally challenging it is open enough for novice golfers to try their hand at a spectacular public course. Quicksand has a course rating of 71.8 and a slope rating of 121.
The pro-shop at Quicksand Golf Course is chocked full of gear and has plenty of staff to provide on-site service for equipment. The resident pro offers lessons daily and will also lend some advice for tackling the course head on. The 19th hole, located next to the pro-shop, serves up a variety of food and beverages and acts as a nice post-game lounge. Alcoholic beverages sold in the 19th hole are allowed on the course. Quicksand Golf Course is located off of US 277 at 2305 Pulliam St.
